Digital Advertising Operations Specialist

Science has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Advertising Operations Specialist in the Office of Publishing. Reporting to the Director, Business Operations & Analysis, you will serve to optimize campaign serving for the organization by utilizing an in-depth knowledge in the creation and execution of digital display ad campaigns for AAAS.

What You’ll Do   

  • Implement, test, and launch digital display ad campaigns and email-based campaigns on behalf of advertising clients  
  • Communicate with both internal sales staff and client contacts during the setup, flight, and results reporting phases of a digital campaign  
  • Monitor online ad campaign status daily to optimize ad delivery and performance, and ensure campaigns deliver on schedule and in full  
  • Work with clients and ad agencies to help trouble-shoot online ads (includes Rich Media, 3rd party tags, static, and HTML)  
  • Assist in the implementation, monitoring, and optimization of programmatic ad partnerships through Google Ad Manager and other platforms 
  • Create customized ad performance reports and provide inventory forecasting  
  • Make administrative decisions on how best to setup digital ads for optimal delivery  
  • Interpret ad order specifications and push for clarification when necessary; check ad creatives to ensure specifications are in place  
  • Create and launch 3rd party email campaigns using HTML files provided by clients with the ability to trouble shoot or recode client’s files as necessary  
  • Create and launch email newsletters with provided editorial and advertising content 
  • Demonstrate multi-tasking ability; keep multiple projects on-track  
  • Work closely with media vendors and media teams to resolve reporting and/or billing discrepancies 
  • Additional duties as assigned  

Minimum Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree  
  • 2 years of experience in digital advertising industry  
  • Experience with HTML, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript  
  • Knowledge of programmatic digital advertising concepts and experience with programmatic transactions on buyer or seller side 
  • Proficient in using Google Ad Manager, formerly known as DoubleClick for Publishers (DFP), or comparable ad-serving systems to traffic and troubleshoot digital ad campaigns 
  • Proficient in HTML and image editing tools such as Dreamweaver and Fireworks 
  • Proficient in MS Office suite  
  • Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task  
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills  
  • Ability to communicate and write in a clear and concise manner
