As of July 2019, there are about 1.3 million real estate agents in America.

While it may seem like a lot, there is always room for more real estate agents.

Are you looking to change the direction of your career path? Real estate might be a good option for you. Discover the benefits of working in real estate.

1. Flexible Schedules

One of the best perks of being a real estate agent is that you can have a flexible schedule. If you want to work on weekends and have a few days off, you can definitely do that.

If you need to get your kids to and from school, you can decide to take a few breaks during drop off and pick up to make sure that you can run your business while also taking care of your kids.

If you really want to take a vacation at some point in the year, you can do that as well without having to wait for a manager to approve it.

At the end of the day though, you're in charge of when you run your business.

The one con to this is that with great power comes great responsibility. With the ability to make your own hours, you may end up working more than 40 hours a week to try and make up time.  However, if you think you could manage it, this could be a very rewarding part of the job.

2. It Can Be a Very Rewarding Job

Real estate can also be a very rewarding job.

While some situations can be stressful and difficult, at the end of the day you know that you're helping someone find and own their dream home.

Even though it can be a little bit stressful at times, finalizing those papers will make it that much sweeter.

3. Figure out How Big You Want Your Company to Be

When you run your own company, you are also in charge of how big you want it to be.

You can decide to take on as many clients as you can handle, or you can decide to do it as much as you want on the side.

You can figure out how much time and effort you want to put into it, which is something you should sit down and decide beforehand.

4. You Set the Potential for Your Income

When you become a real estate agent, there is no set salary. How successful you are and how many clients you take on will largely determine how much you make.

Before you become a real estate agent, you should learn about what you should make off of each transaction so that you aren't getting ripped off.

5. You Can Be Your Own Boss

At the end of the day, you will also be able to be your own boss.

You'll be able to set your own wages and schedule. If you love freedom and hate having someone tell you what to do, this is probably the biggest incentive.
